This website presents the book By the Skin of My Teeth, by Jorge Toledo. This page explains, in simple terms, what personal data the site receives, what it is used for and what your rights are.
Who is responsible
Jorge Toledo, author of the book and responsible for this website. To discuss your data, use the site’s contact form.
What data we receive
- Contact form: your name, email, subject and the message you write.
- Newsletter form: your email and the record that you agreed to receive news.
- Technical data: as on any website, the server where the site is hosted (HostGator) and the service that sends the forms may record technical connection data, such as the IP address and the type of browser.
The site does not use cookies, nor audience-analytics or advertising tools. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which makes your browser connect to Google’s servers when the site is opened.
What we use it for
- To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
- To send news about the book, events and releases to those who subscribed to the newsletter and agreed to receive them.
We do not use your data for any other purpose and we do not sell it.
Who the data passes through
- Formspree, the service that receives what you send through the forms and forwards it to the responsible person’s email. This service may process data on servers outside Brazil, including in the United States.
- The responsible person’s email service (Gmail), where messages and subscriptions are received.
- Google Fonts, for the reason described above.
How long we keep it
We keep messages only for as long as needed to reply to them and to keep the history of the conversation. We keep the newsletter email for as long as you want to receive the news. You can ask for deletion at any time.
Your rights
Under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018), you can ask for confirmation that we process your data, access to it, correction, deletion, information about who it has been shared with, and withdrawal of consent. To unsubscribe from the newsletter or exercise any of these rights, write through the contact form.
Links to other sites
The site has links to the printed-book store, to Amazon and to social networks. Those sites have their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.

This policy may be updated. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
